participation
Social awareness, charities and participation ( Budapest 2024)
Within the objective of promoting student participation in school policies and the organization of school activities, our students went on a visit to a school in Budapest. The students were informed about the different forms of social work within a community, both on the micro and macro level. Further, they learned how to participate as students in different sectors through volunteer and social work. There was a debate on opportunities for community participation at different organizations. Our students received information from experts and investigated what positive influences and prevention possibilities volunteer work and social work can offer in combating crime, loneliness and individualization of society. The students compiled their findings into a presentation that was presented in front of a group of 70 foreign students from different social directions. In addition, the students visited some Hungarian institutions to learn more about the cultural differences and the different political culture and structure of Hungary compared to Belgium.
