Where to begin?
Marvel at the Hagia Sophia. Visiting Istanbul without seeing the Hagia Sophia is like going to Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower or New York without the Statue of Liberty.
Istanbul's hamams and spas serve tourists and nostalgic locals in search of a steamy scrub. Whether it's a cheap wash or a deluxe treatment by a tellak (masseur), you'll find what you're looking for in our round-up of Istanbul's best baths and spas.
Belgrad forest. Perhaps the most cherished green space in Istanbul, the Belgrad Forest is a wooded wonderland spread out across more than 1300 acres. A popular weekend destination, the forest has designated picnic areas and a 6.5 km track used by joggers and walkers. It begins at the Neşet Suyu fountain and has markers every half kilometer so you can track your distance. Once you've taken a few steps into the forest you'll quickly feel the revitalizing touch of the fresh, clean air.
Istanbul Bazaars. The bustle of the Istanbul markets is incomparable to any shopping experience. The city that prides itself on its past, you can taste the tradition whilst browsing various unusual but glamorous items. Whatever you’re into, there’s a bazaar for it. Some bazaars may be a little bit expensive, but the Turks love a good haggle. Negotiation is a refined art form and science in Istanbul. Not everything may be original, and the markets may be crowded, but you will find that the memories you’ll create may be priceless.
